While Xbox Game Pass offers great value for money, the $9.99 (or $19.99 for Ultimate) monthly subscription price makes it inaccessible to some gamers. Fortunately, there is a free way to get Xbox Game Pass for free every month.
Getting Xbox Game Pass for free can be a dream come true for any gamer. The service provides access to a huge library of high-quality games, making it a great deal for gamers. Fortunately, there are legitimate ways you can enjoy Xbox Game Pass without having to pay any fees. Here’s how you can get your free game pass. Check out why I chose to keep my Xbox Game Pass subscription permanently.
Sign up for rewards with Microsoft
Before you get Game Pass for free through Rewards with MicrosoftYou will need to sign up for an account. After you go to the Microsoft Rewards landing page, you can sign up by clicking the “Start Earning” button and logging into your account.
Next, you'll be able to see how many points you have available overall and how many you've earned today. If you just created your account, it's likely to be zero, but you may have points available if you're a regular Microsoft Edge or Bing user.
Now that you have access to your Microsoft Rewards account, you're ready to earn points.
Do activities to earn reward points.
To get a free Xbox Game Pass subscription, you'll need to earn a total of 9,500 points per month for the basic pass or 14,000 points per month for the (much better) Ultimate pass. That's roughly 312 points per day and 460 points per day, respectively.
If you're a Microsoft Rewards Tier 2 member (which you'll almost certainly be if you earn enough Game Pass points each month), the cost of the base and ultimate passes drops to 8,500 points and 12,000 points per reward.
While earning a lot of points is difficult, it is possible. You will need to avoid spending points on other rewards and maximize your opportunities by doing all your daily activities and searches. Here’s how to earn the necessary Microsoft Rewards points quickly.
Earn points by searching
First, you need to perform daily searches to earn points. You can earn 5 points per search for a total of 50 points by searching on your computer in Microsoft Edge or Bing. You will earn an additional 100 points weekly if you maintain a daily streak.
In total, you can earn approximately 1,955 of your required 9,500 points per month by searching the web on Bing. You will need to earn the remaining 7,545 points through other means.
Complete your daily collection.
You can earn an additional 30 points per day (for a total of 912 points per month) by completing your daily collection. Each daily collection includes three fun activities, such as fun facts and surveys, that you can complete in just a few minutes.
By combining your daily collection and daily searches, you can earn up to 2,867 points per month. So, you only need 6,633 additional points to get the basic ticket.
Finish your daily activities
After completing the daily searches and collection, you will need to earn points by completing all other daily activities. The number of points you can earn varies each day. More activities and points will become available to you as you level up (after earning a certain number each month).
These offers will help you get closer to the remaining balance you need to redeem your monthly pass. By earning around 320 points each day through additional activities, you will earn enough to get the basic ticket, and you will only need to earn another 46 points each day to get the final ticket.
Get more points on your Xbox
You can earn extra points by playing games on your Xbox console or through the Xbox app on your computer. Completing certain activities, such as playing games for a certain amount of time, achieving achievements, or watching movies, will allow you to earn extra points.
If you have access to both Xbox and PC and complete all of your daily tasks for both consoles, you'll earn enough points to purchase an Ultimate Pass each month. However, it's important to keep up your habit, as missing a single day could prevent you from purchasing the Ultimate Game Pass.
Redeem your points for a monthly Xbox Game Pass subscription
Once you have enough points (9,500 for Basic or 14,000 for Ultimate), you're ready to redeem your Xbox Game Pass subscription. You can purchase it through the Microsoft Rewards store and redeem it on your connected account.
Either pass will give you access to a great selection of games, among other things. While getting enough points to get the pass can be a challenge, you’ll find that the gameplay makes it more than worth it. Here’s what you need to know about the Xbox Game Pass drawbacks you might encounter.
