PS5 Pro: The arrival of Sony's new console is imminent
The PS5 has been out for 4 years now, and while the console is halfway through its life, it's the usual time for multiple variations to arrive. Less than a year ago, a Slim version was released, which finally reduced the gigantic size of the base model.
A change of look is good, but what really interests gamers is a more powerful edition to play in better conditions. Since the beginning of 2024, rumors around the PS5 Pro have been multiplying. “Project Trinity” as Sony calls it internally, is shaping up to be a major update for those who don't yet have a PS5.

Expected performance and features
Many improvements are expected, mainly focused on the graphics performance of the machine. The current frame rate of the PS5 is what tickles a lot of players, with still too many major titles that are limited to 30 FPS.
Other features could be boosted, including upscaling which allows playing on large screens at high resolution. But also Ray-Tracing, a well-known PC technology which improves lighting effects.

No disc drive on PS5 Pro?
Above, we can see its contours. It therefore takes the forms of the PS5 Slim, but adds 3 stripes instead of one, like a scratch; a symbol of power. The color seems white, and we find the same 2 USB-C ports and the USB-A port on the front of the console.
Finally, we can see that there is no disc drive. It is impossible to know if there is another version that supports physical games. This vagueness is quite disturbing. How can we justify a “Pro” console that has fewer functions than a PS5 Slim? We will see.
