Tracking your daily habits can be overwhelming at times, but with the advancement of technology, there are apps that help you monitor your habits easily and effortlessly. Whether you are looking to improve your lifestyle or want to maintain a certain activity, some apps provide simple interfaces and effective features that make it easy to track your progress and achieve your goals.
When I started my self-improvement journey in 2019, a handful of apps made it easy to track habits like going to the gym. They also helped me stay accountable. If you’re looking to make small, regular adjustments to your daily life, these apps will help. Check out these hardcore habit trackers that will keep you motivated to achieve your goals.
1. Habitica: Best at gamification
One of the best ways to keep up with a habit is to realize that life is like a video game that you’re actually playing. Because Habitica makes habit tracking a game, it’s one of the best apps to use to make lasting changes.
Habitica lets you set up a positive habit tracker (like walking 10,000 steps a day) or a negative habit tracker (like skipping coffee in the afternoon). You can change the category via tags and set the difficulty level.
With Habitica, you can reset the counter for any of your habits. You can also add notes that you think would be useful to record. At the top of the main screen, you’ll see health and experience bars — along with your game level. Levels advance as you achieve goals.
Once you have enough points, you can buy different things with your token. It's one of many wellness apps that turns self-care into a game.

You can use Habitica for free, but the app also has optional subscriptions. If you want to support the project, the prices are as follows:
Month 1 |
Quarterly |
Every 6 months |

---|---|---|---|
$4.99 | $14.99 | $29.99 | $47.99 |
2. Super Habit: Best for iOS Users
If you’re looking for a less fun version of Habitica, I recommend checking out the Habit Tracker app instead. You can enter the name of your habit and choose how many days per week you want to complete it. For example, I aim to exercise four times per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday).
When using a specific habit tracking app, you can also choose a start date. You can also choose how many reminders you want to see and what day you want your calendar week to start on.
For additional customization, you can customize the color of your habit tracker. For a complete overview of your history, you can see your progress for the current month and year. Most of the features within the app are free, but you can upgrade to a paid subscription or get a lifetime purchase for unlimited habit tracking.

3. Habit Tracker: Best for Ease of Use
Davetech’s Habit Tracker app has a simple user interface with several available templates, such as breathing exercises, reading books, eating vegetables, and reviewing your day. Within each, you can choose specific goal periods and whether you want to build them or quit them.
Habit Tracker lets you change the icon for each of your habits, allowing you to navigate between them more easily. Additionally, you can customize the graph type and choose whether it’s suitable for morning, afternoon, or evening.
Some examples of “quit smoking” habits include cutting back, complaining less, and not spending too much time playing video games. You can create your own habits if you don’t want to use any of the examples.
The Habit Tracker app lets you see the status of your habits based on whether or not you’ve stuck to them. You can also track how you feel, which can help you find patterns when you’re keeping up with or skipping your habits.

4. Habitify: Best for visualizing throughout the day
Habitify lets you choose from five starter habits, including drinking water and practicing yoga. You can also add your own habits later. The app lets you choose how often you want to repeat these habits, and you can set daily goals for how long you want to continue.
Habitify helps you keep everything organized by creating different zones. So, if you’re looking to organize your household or simply keep track of what’s going on in your life, this is a great option. For each zone, you can edit the name and choose a different color as well.
If you want to challenge yourself, you will find many challenges to participate in. They are divided on a daily and monthly basis, and you will also find many subcategories to explore more specific challenges.
The Habitify app has comprehensive statistics to give you an overview of your habits, and you can see which habits you've completed and ignored — as well as which ones you've partially completed.
