1. Air fryer

I love cooking my own food for the health benefits of knowing exactly what I’m putting into my body and I also find it very therapeutic. However, that doesn’t mean I want to be active in the kitchen all the time. While I eat the same basic ingredients most of the time, I sometimes struggle for inspiration and ideas. Either way, a smart air fryer can play a major role.

In my opinion, having access to recipes using the smart air fryer is one of its biggest advantages. Even though I’ve been cooking my own food for over a decade, I still love trying new things. And for someone new to healthy eating, I can imagine — based on my experiences as a beginner — that not having to search the internet makes a huge difference.

Another benefit of using smart air fryers is that you can pre-set them if you’re eating your meals at a certain time. For example, when I was preparing meals, I hated eating cold food (but I hated the hassle of reheating it even more). In my opinion, a smart air fryer is a viable alternative in these cases. 2. Coffee machine

I’m very sensitive to caffeine and try to limit my intake to days when I don’t exercise in the morning. However, I enjoy coffee as a treat — which means a good coffee machine will add value to my life. Smart coffee machines can be a viable alternative to a regular coffee machine, and they’re often not as expensive as you might think.

Smart coffee machines give you more options to create the exact drink you want, saving you time needed to visit the coffee shop. You can also set your coffee to brew as you get ready for the day instead of manually going to the kitchen to adjust your settings. Just make sure you put your cup where it belongs the night before!

Another advantage of a smart coffee maker is that you can turn it off when you leave the house without having to press any buttons on the machine.

3. Pressure cooker

I’ve always loved pressure cookers, especially if I like to prepare my meals ahead of time. Recipes like meatballs, roast chicken or beef, and various soups taste so much better when left to cook on low for hours. Smart pressure cookers can make everything so much easier and have many of the same benefits as a smart air fryer.

One of my biggest gripes with a regular pressure cooker was that I sometimes found it difficult to release the pressure after my meal was ready. This problem is eliminated with the smart pressure cooker because your device will do this automatically.

While you can find recipes online, sometimes you’ll need to increase or decrease things depending on the specific number of ingredients you’re using. I’m not a math whiz by any means; one of the great things about smart pressure cookers is that you can use presets to automatically scale your cooking requirements.

Another limitation I found with regular pressure cookers was that you had to regularly pop into the kitchen and check on how your food was cooking. This wasn’t a problem when I was working from home, but it naturally became an issue when I realized how much I hated working from home and rented a shared workspace. With a smart pressure cooker, you can check how your meal is cooking via an app instead. Check out these free food safety resources to keep you and your kitchen healthy.

4. Adjustable temperature kettle

Ever since I was born, I’ve had a natural affinity for a good cup of tea when it’s cold outside. Don’t get me wrong — a regular kettle usually works fine without a problem. However, most kettles don’t allow you to control the temperature. So, if you’re not happy with the result, you usually have to wait until your drink cools down.

This isn’t a problem for me (fortunately, I’m also part Italian, and we have a special knack for drinking hot drinks). But wouldn’t it be great if you could literally choose the temperature and avoid all the hassle? Well, a smart kettle could let you do just that.

Many smart kettles let you choose your preferred temperature for your water, and you can often choose how long you want the liquid to stay warm. So if you’re tired of manually turning on your kettle (or the temperature just doesn’t suit you), you should seriously consider getting one.

I recommend getting a smart kettle instead of a coffee maker if you prefer to brew your own coffee rather than have a machine make it for you.

5. Smart water purifier

One thing I’ve learned as I’ve taken my health seriously is that “safe” drinking water doesn’t always mean “perfect.” While purifiers won’t necessarily get rid of everything, I’ve found that having one is incredibly helpful; the same goes for my LARQ water bottle (which cleans itself every few hours, and yes, I did spend over $100 on a water bottle).

With the smart water purification system, you can always have clean water available for hot and cold drinks.

If you don’t want to invest in a kettle or coffee maker but still enjoy warm drinks, some smart water purifiers will also let you adjust the temperature. However, I would keep in mind that you may need to be physically present more than you would be with a smart coffee maker. So, if you want your coffee ready after your morning shower or run, it’s a good idea to get a smart coffee maker instead.

6. Smart Blender

I never realized how much I needed a blender until I moved into a new house and didn’t have one available. Smoothies are one of my favorite post-workout “snacks,” and they’re also a great weekend meal. While it’s easy to clean them by hand (and make your own smoothies, too), it’s nice to be able to save some of that work.

Since I usually like to shower after getting back from the gym and get ready for my day, I prefer to focus more on my time doing that. With a smart blender, you can use an app to mix your ingredients and have everything ready when you need it. It won’t save you a lot of time since you have to put the ingredients in it yourself, but it’s still a useful tool.

You’ll find smart kitchen appliances useful for all sorts of activities, from cooking to purifying water. I’d recommend getting one only if you already use a manual version or know you’ll be using the smart version frequently. However, there are a number of advantages to doing so. Here are the types of unnecessary smart home appliances I try to avoid.
